Huggy Wuggy was originally created by Playtime CO. to be a beloved toy for children. The plush became the company’s most successful product, but prior to the events of the game, it was modified with a transferred but corrupted human conscience, transforming it into a terrifying monster. Its first appearance involves pretending to be a statue to deceive the protagonist. Once the player obtains a key and restores power to a specific room, Huggy Wuggy vanishes from its pedestal and begins stalking the player from vents or inaccessible high places. It is only when the player ventures into the dark that Huggy Wuggy emerges from the shadows and chases them through conveyor belt tunnels. If the player fails to reach the catwalk at the end of the belt, Huggy Wuggy catches and kills them with its teeth. If the player successfully reaches the catwalk, they must pull a box to block Huggy Wuggy and then destroy it, causing both of them to fall. If the player survives, Huggy Wuggy falls into the void after colliding with some pipes. It remains uncertain whether it survived or was killed in the fall.
